Land for the Hilton Cemetery was donated by Enos and most of the people buried there is of Hilton descent.
Enos came to Missouri in 1841, with his wife, Annabell, and their family, the 1860 Census of Missouri shows Nancy Hilton was born in Virginia, Sarah born in Missouri. At the time Enos Hilton is shown as a resident of Mountain Twp. Barry County. All of the sons who were of age fought for the Union during the civil war. A Church Of God minister .

They lived two doors from Francis Mullen, Missour 's future mother-in- law.
William was about seven when he came to Missouri with parents. He rece ived little formal education because to the scarcity of School in those days. He remained at home until twenty four years of age, at which time he married, and located near the old home place, where its belive d until 1864. He then moved onto 160 acres with 90 acres cultivated. He served in The Federal Army for nearly two years under Capt. Moore. He was discharged in the spring of 1864, because to disability.
