Peter Cooke, of Tarvin, Cheshire England, and Elinor Norman of Kingsley in ye sd county of Soinster having declared their intentions of marriage before several public meetings of the people of God called Quakers in afored county were married 10 Mo. (called December ) 1695" in their public meeting place at Newton afore said county of Ches, among the thirty -two witnesses to this marriage was a John Cooke. The minutes of the Friendly Monthly Meeting, Cheshire show that Jan 3, 1713, Peter Cooke having proposed his intentions of removing himself & family to Pennsylvania & friends consenting there to desire friends of Friendly meeting to draw & sign them a certificate if need require before the next meeting " The next meeting was held Jan 31, 1713, but there is no mention of the certificate, although it must have been signed about this time. The records of this meeting show that Peter Cooke was a very poor man and he was given some assistance to make the journey to Pennsylvania with his large family. They must have embarked very near, for we find burial records of Philadelphia Monthly .. Metting, the following entry, dated May 25, 1713 , Peter Cooke son of---------Cook who died at sea and his wife Elinor. From this entry we learn the approximate date of arrival, the fact the yarrived at Philadelphia and the fact Peter Cooke died at sea, Peter was a black smith . All of Peters children dropped the "e" from the name.

General Notes for Child Isaac COOK
Source, on marriage New Garden Monthly. Meeting. Minutes 1718-68 page 192. Isaac and Thomas Cook both raised families, and while their children were yet young and attached to parental home, they moved from Pennsylvania to the Carolinas, where the children were married and from where most of the descendants moved to present states of Ohio and Indiana in th e early years of the last century. There are yet a few in North Carolina, but so far none are known left in South Carolina.
General Notes for Child John COOK
He was married 1718 at Kennet Monthly meeting. John purchased a tract of land in London Grove, Chester Co. Pennsylvania, and built a log house, 20x30 with three rooms. This house had a large chimney, wit h a open fire place, so that four foot wood, could be burned in it la ter a stone addition was added to the other. By his will in 1758, the stone house was left for a widow, during her life time. His son, Stephen, was to care for his Mother, as long as she lived. The old house was torn down in 1858 (From records of Harmon Cook and is believed to have been copied from American Friend)
John and Peter remained in Pennsylvania and many of thier descendants are still to be found in Chester, Lancaster, York and Adams counties , Many are now scattered over the western states.
