James Hilton may have had the following
sons: James Hilton Jr Luke Hilton, Truman Hilton, William Hilton, son in laws Levin Hays, James Talbott (who married Mary Hilton in Frederick County in 1782), and Archibald Cecill. James Hilton Jr married Priscilla Harris around 1785 and may have later married Lucy Burgess Knott (nee Offutt), a widow, in Montgomery County in 1817.
